Hey, I'm Kaitlin. I live in Colorado just minutes away from the mountains with my husband and our four kids.

As a child I LOVED paper. Loved it. And pens, and pencils, and stickers- anything and everything found in the stationery aisle.

Like most scrapbookers, I was introduced to scrapbooking when I was pregnant with my first child. It was like all of my favorite things rolled into one hobby. It totally made sense to me.

Then I joined a design team at a local scrapbooking store and soon began to teach classes. I started making little tags for my classes to help keep down costs of kits. Any left over pieces I started selling on Etsy back in 2006. Being an interior design student and looking for a catchy name, I named my Etsy shop Ormolu, a term used to describe golden or gilded items used for decorative purposes.

With each year my shop grew a bit larger. I was creating custom orders for kit clubs and working on new products and items. I was able to migrate away from Etsy and soon retail stores were asking for wholesale information. It was a lot for a stay at home mom of (then) three and I was barely keeping up. But I kept up with it because it was fun and I loved designing.

In the Spring of 2013, I was offered  opportunities to design for Echo Park / Carta Bella and Scraptastic Kit Club . I saw this as a perfect opportunity to step away from the business side of things and just focus on my favorite part, designing.

As of right now, that is exactly what I am doing.

Besides design work, I also still enjoy scrapbooking, cooking & baking and exploring those big ol' mountains just minutes away!
